ManufacturingWorks is a demand-driven system designed to enhance the performance of manufacturers in the Chicagoland area. ManufacturingWorks is the only manufacturing sector-center in the Chicago area. We work with a number of partners in industry, education and government to build long-term relationships with companies that lead to measurable productivity improvements. We assess job skills, screen potential employees, facilitate lean manufacturing and other customized training systems, assess and recommend pre-employment training, provide funding resources and offer a broad variety of business consulting services. Our trusted relationships with companies and industry partners help us to continuously improve our assessment and screening processes which, in turn, lead to a lower ratio of candidates sent to candidates hired. As a partnership between local leaders in the manufacturing sector, the City of Chicago, the Chicago Workforce Investment Council (CWIC), the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS), the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity  (DCEO) and Instituto del Progreso Latino (IDPL), ManufacturingWorks brings much more comprehensive expertise to bear than is likely to be found at any private sector consultancy.
